Rumesh Ratnayake has been appointed as the new National Women's Head Coach only days ahead of their T20 World Cup, starting in South Africa on February 10, Timesonline learns.
In fact, this would be veteran Ratnayake's debut with the women's team, despite having coached multiple age groups of men's team over several stints.
Coincidentally, Lankan ladies would be taking on hosts South Africa, in the World Cup-opener on Feb 10.
The team and support staff would be taking wings in the wee hours of Friday.
