Ministry of Sports appointed a five-member Carrom Selection Committee headed by Dudley Goonawardhane.
The other four members of the committee are: Shirley de Silva, Sunanda Kodagoda, J.N. Abeywardhane and Wasantha Wickremasinghe.
Goonawardhane was a Junior National Champion for several years and is a well respected umpire.
Shirley de Silva is a former Chief of the Selection Committee.
Kodagoda, the Secretary of Nationalised Services Carrom Association and a member of the Executive Committee of the Sri Lanka Carrom Federation and also serves as a senior umpire and the Media Officer of the Carrom Federation.
J.N. Abeywardhane, was a National Champion in 1980s and was the National Coach in the 1990s.
Wickremasinghe was a champion carrom player who had won the Goverment Servicrs 'A' Division title.
