Dinesh Chandimal has been officially appointed the captain of the Sri Lanka Test team while Upul Tharanga was named the captain of the ODI and Twenty20 teams at a press conference held at the Sri Lanka Cricket headquarters a short while ago today (12).
These decisions were made after Angelo Mathews stepped down from the captaincy of the Sri Lanka cricket team following the disastrous 2-3 defeat against Zimbabwe in the concluded ODI series.
Mathews made his decision public to step down from the captaincy at the press conference.
