Cricket: Nipun Dananjaya to lead Sri Lanka U-19s against India

Nipun Dananjaya of St. Joseph Vaz College, Wennappuwa has been picked to lead the Sri Lanka Under-19s in the upcoming series against India Under-19s. 

The Sri Lanka Under-19s squad, named by Sri Lanka Cricket (SLC) includes 15 players and a further four as stand bys for the home series, which includes two Youth Tests and five Youth ODIs.

The named squad is for the two Youth Test matches and SLC will name a new squad for the five Youth ODIs. 

The first Youth Test between Sri Lanka and India will be played at the NCC ground in Colombo from July 17 to 24 followed by the second and final match at Sooriyawewa in Hambantota from July 24 to 27.

The first Youth ODI will be played at the P. Sara Oval in Colombo on July 30 while the second and third games have been scheduled for August 2 and 5 to be played at the SSC ground in Colombo. 

The fourth and fifth Youth ODIs will be played at the Tyronne Fernando Stadium in Moratuwa on August 7 and 10.
