Sri Lanka Cricket (SLC) has decided to postpone the intended beginning of the topmost domestic championship, the Premier Cricket Championship, due to inclement weather condition.
Six matches were scheduled to be played in the opening week of the SLC Premier Championship beginning from December 1, but with the stormy weather, coupled up with torrential rain has forced the kick-start of the competition by a week.
SLC sources stated that the tournament will move on with the remaining schedules from the coming weekend, and the six games that were forced to abandon, will be played in the final week of the league schedule.
The six matches that were postponed from this weekend are SSC vs Moors, Ragama CC vs Bloomfield, Saracens vs CCC, Sri Lanka Ports Authority vs Chilaw Marians, NCC vs Badureliya SC and BRC vs Army.
