Defending Champion Sachin de Silva cruised in to the semi-final of the 97th Royall Colombo Golf Club Championship 2018, brushing aside youngster Nirekh Tejwani in the Quarters and RCGC Captain, Avancka Herath in the 1st Round.
Sachin meets Rusi Captain the 13 time winner of the RCGC Championship, in the second semi-final.
Rusi avenged his defeat of last year by beating Kushal Johnpillai 2 & 1 in the quarters after beating Chanaka Perera 4 & 2 in the 1st Round.
In the top half of the draw Amrith De Soysa, 4 time champion of RCGC, Darren Hall and Arjun Fernando with consummate ease to set-up a semi-final clash with Ronan Hall who beat Zaffar Sikkander(1up) and Suhayb Sangani 5 & 4) respectively.
In the first round battles Darren Hall overcame the experienced Ranil Pieris 5 & 4, Suhayb Sangani beat Arvind Fernando 2 & 1, whilst Rajeev Rajapaksa was beaten by Kushal Johnpilai 5 & 4 and J. Wasserman was beaten by Nirekh Tejwani.
The semi-final promises a thrilling spectacle with the ‘titans’ and a newcomer trying to make a statement.
The final will be worked off on Sunday (19) at the RCGC Ridgeways Golf Course.

The Judicial Service Commission (JSC) has interdicted Colombo Fort Magistrate Kosala Senadheera.
