Center half and skipper Sammani Wasundara powered Sri Sumangala Girls school Panadura to wrap up the girls title in the All Island Under-18 Hockey Tournament with a 1-0 win over fancied Vishaka Vidyalaya Bambalapitiya in the girls final which was played prior to the boys final.
The girl’s semi-finals saw Vishakians beating Seetha Devi girls Kandy 1-0 and Sri Sumangala girls Panadura outplaying Janadhipathi Balika Nawala 3-2 on penalties to qualify for the finals.
Seetha Devi won the third place play off beating Janadhipathi Balika Nawala 3-2 on penalties after the match ended nil all draw at full time.
