Kamil Hussain was unanimously elected the President of Sri Lanka Association of Racing Drivers and Riders (SLARDAR) at its 34th Annual General Meeting held at the Diesel and Motor Company Auditorium in Colombo 14.
Hussain was nominated by former President Nishan Wasalathanthri and with former Secretary Pubudu Wickrama seconding it, he was elected the President of SLARDAR for the tenure of 2018.
Hussain, meanwhile, put forward the name of Prashan Wijenayake, the incumbent Secretary, to continue for another term.
With Mahinda Jayawardena endorsing the nomination Wijenayake was reelected as the Secretary.
The SLARDAR has been an active entity in the field of motorsports for many years and its founder President, Rodney Mason also made his presence at the AGM. SLARDAR takes honour in introducing top motorsports events of the country, namely Rotherham Katukurunda, Fox Hill Supercross, Radella Hill Climb, Gajaba Supercross, Gunners Supercross, Cavalry Supercross, Sigiriya Rallycross, Commando Supercross and Colombo Supercross.
