The 2nd Travel Trade Sports Club Pool Championships 2015, sponsored by Yenesha Travels (Pvt) Ltd., Seeduwa, will be held on Saturday (31) at the “Shotz” Pool Lounge at Excel World in Colombo, commencing from 1.00pm. Entries have been invited from the TTSC Membership and will close on Friday (30) at 3.00pm with Shan Perera, C/o Singapore Airlines, Aitken Spence Tower II, Ground Floor, 315 Vauxhall Street Colombo 2. In the inaugural tournament held in May, 2014, Rimzan Hameed from Classic Travels won the Cup championship beating Vivek Kerkovan of Kingsbury Hotel. Shalutha Puwasaru from Classic Travels won the Plate beating Dilshan Gnanapragasam from Amaya Resorts and Spas while Jameel Mohamed Akheli from Amadeus Lanka won the Bowl title beating Akhila Thirinagama from Hayleys Travels. Hussain Habeeb from Serendib Leisure won the Shield beating Viraj Nilaweera from Walkers and Whittalls. R.

Ajith Gallage, the owner of a Bird Park in Nagarawawa, Hambantota, has been remanded over allegations of concealing illegally imported motorcycles, in a warehouse owned by him.
A passenger attempting to smuggle the largest quantity of gold of 35 kilo grams was arrested by the Customs at the Bandaranaike International Airport (BIA) today, a senior official said.
