Old Nalandians beat Old Anandians 7-5 to win the P. de S. Kularatne Challenge Shield in their inaugural Battle of the Maroons Tag Rugby encounter played at Sharjah.
Nalanda scored in the first half with a brilliant try by Anuja that was converted as the eventual winners took the halftime lead by 7-0.
Ananda came back into the game with a try scored by two minutes into the second half but failed to convert.
Player of the game award was won by Nalandian Ruwan Ranmuthu.
