Navy SC survived a gallant comeback by Havelocks SC and registered a thrilling 28-26 win in the semi-final of the Dialog Clifford Cup Knockout Championship at the Racecourse ground today (21).
The halftime was deadlocked 12-12 as Navy lost momentum and the Havies took control to lead the game by a point, 26-25 with almost 15 minutes to the final whistle.
But the Sailors earned a crucial penalty in the final minute which gave them a thrilling 28-26 win.
Navy scored from three tries, two conversions and three penalties.
Havies scored from four tries and three conversions.
Navy will meet Kandy in the final of the Dialog Clifford Cup Knockout Championship at Longdon Place on Sunday (25).
