Cricket: Royalist Vimath Dinsara to lead Sri Lanka U-19s at Youth Asia Cup

Talented all-rounder Vimath Dinsara of Royal College will lead Sri Lanka Under-19s at the upcoming Asian Cricket Council (ACC) Men’s U-19 Asia Cup 2025, set to take place from December 12 to 21 in Dubai.

Kavija Gamage of Kingswood College has been appointed as the vice captain of the side that includes a total of 15 players in the squad.

Sri Lanka will compete in Group ‘B’ alongside Afghanistan, Bangladesh and Nepal, while the Group ‘A’ consist of India, Pakistan, Malaysia and hosts United Arab Emirates at the ACC U-19 Asia Cup 2025, which will be played as a 50-over competition.  

All matches will be played at the ICC Academy Stadium in Dubai and the Dubai International Stadium from 10:30am Sri Lankan time.

Sri Lankan youth will take on Nepal on December 13, followed by their second group game against Afghanistan on December 15, before the last group game against Bangladesh on December 17.

Sri Lanka Under-19 squad: Vimath Dinsara (Captain/Royal College), Kavija Gamage (Vice Captain/Kingswood College), Dimantha Mahavithana, Adham Hilmy and Sethmika Seneviratne (all from Trinity College), Viran Chamuditha and Chamarindu Nethsara (both from St. Servatius’ College, Matara), Dulnith Sigera and Chamika Heenatigala (both from Mahanama College), Kithma Vidanapathirana (Ananda College), Sanuja Ninduwara (St. Anne’s College, Kurunegala), Kugathas Mathulan (St. John’s College, Jaffna), Rasith Nimsara (Lyceum International School, Wattala), Vigneshwaran Akash (St. Joseph’s College) and Tharusha Navodya (Zahira College).
