The 102nd Sri Lanka Tennis Nationals begins today (4) with the Junior category matches at the Sri Lanka Tennis Association (SLTA) courts in Greenpath.
Rated as a Super 'A' Grade competition, the Junior segment will continue until August 20, before the Senior segment kicks off.
The cynosure will be on the eight top players -- four each from boy's and girl's segments -- in the Under-18 age category.
Defending Under-18 Boy's champion Avindra Perera is the favourite of this segment where Vibudha Wijebandara, Srinath Udayachandra, Sean Sanderson and Vikum Jayasuriya are among the top ranks.
With the absence of the Girl's title holder Medhira Samarasinghe, Anika Seneviratne, Janali Manamperi, Sathi Silva and Anya Gunawardene are tipped to be among top contenders.
