St. Peter's College Colombo beat St. Aloysius College Galle by 38 runs to win the Schools Under-19 Division I Twenty20 Cricket Championship in the final played at the Galle International Stadium on Saturday (9).
St. Peter's, last year's runners-up, elected to bat first and scored 162-8 and restricted St. Aloysius for 124-8.
Man-of-the-match Chandula Jayamanne produced a valuable allround performance to guide St. Peter's to a convincing win.
Chandula Jayamanna hit 49 off 24 balls with seven fours and two sixes for the Peterites while skipper Vinu Mohotti scored 40 off 33 balls with four fours and a six.
Prabodha Guruge claimed four wickets.
Navindu Nirmal top scored for the losers with 36 off 39 balls inclusive of two fours and a six.
Jayamanne took three wickets.
In the third place playoff Trinity College Kandy beat Prince of Wales' Moratuwa by 4 wickets.
