Wesley College and St. Mary's College Kegalle were declared joint champions of the Singer Schools Under-19 Division II Cricket Tournament after the three-day final ended in an exciting tie at the Pallekele International Cricket Stadium in Kandy on Sunday (10).
At close of play Wesley, chasing 195 runs for victory, were bowled out for 194.
St. Mary's batted first and posted 194 runs in their first innings and Wesley were bowled out for 120 runs in reply.
In their second innings St. Mary's were bowled out for 120 runs.
Both teams will qualify to play in the Schools Under-19 Division I Tournament next season.
