According to Mr Vince Blanco, Head Teacher - Electrical Engineering, a much sought after presenter in the field of electrotechnology, one of the popular courses among international students in the fast developing electrotechnology area is the 2-year Diploma of Electronics and Communications Engineering (Course No. 17789).
Mr Blanco explained the students gain a qualification with elective sustainable/renewable energy units as part of their Diploma.
This is unique to Mount Druitt College of TAFE NSW - Western Sydney Institute and value added when it comes to future employment.
He explained "We have industry contacts with Energy Australia, Integral Energy, a medical electronics communications company and satellite communications links with Vodafone, Optus and Telstra which assist students to gain the 144 hours work experience which is a requirement to complete the qualification."

The academic entry requirements for the Diploma of Electronics and Communications Engineering for students from Sri Lanka are 3 passes at the GCE A/L or 2 passes at the London A/L.
A recent academic IELTS score of 5.5 is an essential English entry requirement. Students in this Diploma course will also gain the Certificate 3 in Electronics and Communications.
