As the light of new educational revival begins to shine for the Northern region of our country new opportunities seem to come their way more than before. Under the government orchestrated development programme 'Uthuru Wasanthaya' there have been and continue to have various programmes that nourish and nurture the educational talents of the students in the region, the prime motive of them being to uplift the educational standards of the Jaffna region which at one time was incomparably high.
The Institute of Chartered Accountants of Sri Lanka (ICASL) recently conducted a career guidance seminar for students in the Northern region under their 'Sisu Nena' educational seminar series.
This seminar was conducted by experienced professionals who introduced a thorough presentation on the various opportunities available for students in the present market.
This seminar also carefully articulated the pros and cons of today's business environment and emphasized the value and recognition of various careers available in the market with special emphasis on Accounting.
The Jaffna region once had been leading the educational market of the country and it is now timely for them to recover from their losses and head the voyage to retain its position, for which seminars of this calibre would certainly be useful.
This provides them the opportunity to think twice of understanding the power of its resources and ways and means of utilizing them productively.
The ICASL is a globally recognized accounting qualification that has nurtured thousands of students over the past decades, and is committed to nourish and develop the hidden potential of our country's student population. It is therefore a good example set by ICASL for the rest of the country to help uplift the socio economic and educational aspects of our brother community. |
