Quest for talent ends on a high

The fresh young talent of Sri Lanka took to the stage and battled it out for the number one spot at TNL Onstage 2009 last weekend. An annual quest for talent, the event has become one of the most anticipated events in the music calendar. Now well into its tenth season, the event has carved itself a name over the years for unearthing local talent and providing a forum for upcoming bands and musicians.

The winner of the solo category for TNL Onstage 2009 was Sameera Dayaratne, while Nadisha Wickramathilake came in second place. The 1st place in the band category was clinched by Five Minutes Apart, while Helter Skelter was came in second.

The event featured a special performance by Civilization One along with guest performances by local bands Nemesis and The Rebels. The Sunday Times was the print media sponsor for TNL Onstage 2009.
