‘Katahanda’ felicitates Gamini

Remembering the fifth death anniversary of late actor, Gamini Fonseka a felicitation is organized by ‘Katahanda’ Media Centre on November 16 at 6.30 pm at the Elphinstone theatre, Colombo.

The screen queen of Sri Lankan cinema, Malani Fonseka will be felicitated with the inaugural Gamini Fonseka Memorial Award at the event which is going to be coloured up with songs and dances by well known artistes.

Dilum Senadheera, Saliya Sathyajith, Anusha Damayannthi and Nilanthi Dias are to give dancing performances together with the students in the dancing academies of Kulasiri Budhawaththa, Ravinbandu Vidyapathy, Chandana Wickremasinghe, Rajini Selvanayagam and Sri Jayana.

A documentary from the scenes of Gamini Fonseka’s cinema will be shown while a book ‘Nomiyena Gamini’ (Immortal Gamini) written by journalist Srimath Indrajith Liyanage will be launched.The occasion also marks the distribution of certificates to the 25th batch of the Announcing course conducted by Indrajith Liyanage.
