Trinity started on a triumphant note when they overcame the Rajans by 44 points by 44 points (2 goals, 6 tries) to 5 (1 try) at Pallekele last evening.

It was a battle between the Trinity three-quarters and the Rajan forwards who were quite impressive.
Scrum half Rohan Weerakoon had a grand game and was responsible for four tries, winger Mohammed Seshan and lock Gothabaya and Mahes scored in the first half while number eight Sathsara Basnayake touched down for the Rajans.
At half time it was 15-5. Skipper Damith Dissanaike, a hat-trick by Rohan Weerakoon and number eight Shenon Armstrong’s try enabled the winners to pile on the points.
