Summer fun at the British Council

The British Council's Summer School is back for its second year in Colombo. Taking place again this year in Royal College's Skills Centre, each 2-week summer school session allows young learners between the ages of 8 and 13 to learn, practice and improve their English communication skills. Classes will take place in the mornings or the afternoons.

The first summer school session will be held every week-day from August 9 to 20, and the second session will be from August 23 to September 3. All the sessions are conducted by British Council teachers, who are from different countries and ethnic backgrounds. They are qualified experts in English Language Teaching, and the sessions they deliver will create opportunities for children to learn and use English through enjoyable and motivating lessons.

In addition to coursework and interactive activities designed to exploit the language in modern children's films, young learners in the summer school sessions will prepare and present an end-of-course drama performance for their parents and friends on stage at the British Council in Colombo.

The Teaching Centre in Colombo is looking forward to a second successful summer school and hopes to see as many children as possible joining in on the fun.
