OLAK plans to build Business Leaders of tomorrow

Greater social demand for higher education and for equity of access has generated the rise of the private provision in higher education. To address the countries need for intellectual capital, we should emphasize on the creation of articulation and mobility pathways for students throughout the education and learning process. We believe the way forward of harnessing countries intellectual capital is to have an integrated approach to facilitate assess mobility, monitored progression, training and employment.
Central to the construction of this, is a coordinated approach to indentify global trends for education and best practices and align them with disciplined based learning and work based learning which occurs mainly in the work place, but includes professional practice.

Incorporated in July 2009, the vision of OLAK Institute is to become the most preferred education institute for professional and post graduate studies. Towards achieving this task, OLAK will build affiliations with leading academic and professional bodies in several countries.

Its objective is to fill the void in modern teaching technology in a manner that would shape the students and professionals with rounded competencies required to take control of their future careers.
Innovative courses are being planned to provide the younger generation with an opportunity to pick on a relevant course which he or she will feel comfortable with. In other words, they will have a choice in selecting a path which they are confident of moving forward.

International Qualification - Business Studies, Human Resource & Marketing
One such initiative is the effort by OLAK School of Business Studies to make an effective change to make Graduates of Today Business Leaders of Tomorrow. OLAK introduces a range of courses where academic modules will be taught with a touch of business excellence.

Students are afforded the opportunity to qualify under the Association of Business Executives (ABE) programme in UK. It is an affordable, flexible and high quality professional Business Management, Human Resources and Marketing Programmes which has been conducted for over 30 years and is accredited by QCA-UK (Qualifications and Curriculum Authority).

Regular ABE classes are being held for students to read for the Diplomas under the ABE Programme. Students with two A Level passes are eligible to enter the ABE Diploma Level. Several concessions are offered to those who have fared well at the A/L or held responsible positions in school as well as those who have participated in sports.

Such concessions are offered to:

  • Anyone who has got more than 3 Bs for A/L main subjects - 40% off from the course fee
  • Head prefects, games captains and holders of national colors - 30% off from the total course fee
  • Anyone who has got more than 6As for O/L main subjects with 2 passes in A/L - 20% off from the total course fee

Opportunity for Students & Professionals
OLAK Institute primarily caters to the education needs of two distinct target audiences. They comprise Students and Professionals.

OLAK Institute offers training for local & London O' levels and local & London A' levels. Well-known and fully qualified educators have been selected to train the students. Among the special facilities provided are:

i. Students have the option of purchasing reference material which includes notes from the classes as well as additional research information.

ii. There is a greater focus on examinaion technique, which involves going through past papers, having exam mock ups, sessions from examiners and exam paper markers.

iii. Monthly progress reports and one-on-one counselling sessions.

iv. Post-exam career counselling

For Professionals OLAK Management Training centre offers employer recognized qualifications from Indira Institute of Management - India, diplomas in Sales and English Language from Bristol Business School - Singapore, International qualification in Train the trainer - City & Guilds (UK) and specialized airline industry certification for Cabin Crews, Ground Staff and Cargo Staff.
Here too many distinct features
can be noticed:

i. The courses will be delivered by the best qualified in the field.

ii. They will all have a certain number of hours as on job-training when the students will be put through an actual work environment for them to get firsthand experience with regard to jobs in their chosen sphere

iii. Course material and additional research material will be made available

iv. There will be a greater focus on examinaion technique, which involves going through past papers, having examination mock ups, sessions from examiners and examination paper markers.
