Reference to the story in the Business Times of 25 July 2010, under the title – Top SLT executive resigns over HR issues, my resignation had nothing to do with the issues written in this article.
My resignation did not follow any decision taken at a meeting of the board on the 16th of July as stated therein. In fact my letter of resignation is dated much before the 16th of July. Hence it cannot be correct.
Further, I have not made any payment to Sri Lanka Customs in demurrage for Internet Protocol Television. I do not wish to respond to the other views expressed by the engineers union. It suffices to say that out of over 25 active trade unions in SLT covering over 7000 employees; it has a membership of less than 275 members. Hence their views do not represent the overall view of trade unions in SLT.
