Richmond College Galle emerged winners at the Baseball Triangular Tournament organized by the Royal College Union Baseball Advisory and Management Committee to mark the 25th anniversary of baseball at Royal College.

The participants at the tournament were Kingswood College Kandy, Richmond College Galle and Royal College Colombo.
At the completion of the contest the principals of Royal, Kingswood and Richmond signed a memorandum to continue the baseball triangular as an annual event.
The chief guest at the prize giving ceremony was the Ambassador of Japan Mr. Kunio Takashi. The guest of honour was Mrs. Valerie C. Fowler, Deputy Chief of Mission is the US Embassy in Sri Lanka.
The competition took place at the Royal College grounds and the scores are as follows:
Under 19 winners Richmond Galle; Under 19 runners-up Royal (Richmond won 10-2).
Under 15 winners Royal; Under 15 runners-up Richmond Galle (Royal won 14-2). Under 19 and Under 15 third place: Kingswood College Kandy.

The Under 19 winners Richmond College team was captained by Dasun Withanage and the Best Pitcher was Dinidu Dahanayaka. The Best Batter was Kumalka Wickramasekara and the Best Fielder Sachiru Wiranga of Royal.
The Under 15 winners Royal College was led by Shan Tennekoon. The Best Pitcher in the side was Shan Tennekoon; Best Batter: Chamod Dilshanka of Richmond and the Best Fielder: Ashan Probodha.
