Diploma in Information Technology (DIT)
The primary objective of the Diploma in Information Technology (DIT) programme is to develop students with a strong, broad-based education in computing as a scientific and technological discipline. Students will gain an appreciation of the foundations of computation, an understanding of the structure of web designing languages and the skills to put these concepts and technologies into practice as per this program.
The programme is conducted part-time in a mix of English & Sinhalese languages and includes components like Introduction to Computers, Windows/Vista, Ms Word XP/2007, Ms Excel XP/2007, Ms Power Point XP/2007, Ms Access XP/2007, Internet and E-mail, Web Designing & Final Project
Foundation in Information Technology (FIT)
Foundation in Information Technology (FIT) program is a stepping stone to the vast arena of information communication technology. It is aimed on creating computer awareness along with Mathematics and English. The programme consists of three courses, namely ICT Applications, English for ICT and Mathematics for ICT.
It provides the aspirants with adequate knowledge to continue further studies in ICT or seek employment where FIT is counted as an acceptable qualification. It is also accepted as an alternate qualification to GCE (A/L) which is required for enrollment to the BIT program.
The Learning components are UCSC Certified Computer Assistant (UCSC), English for Communication & IT & Fundamentals in Mathematics.
