Sri Lanka's top MBA from down under
Mr. Joel Abraham, International Marketing Director of the Australian Institute of Business Administration (AIBA), along with the head of the examination board, Prof. Rod Oxenburry from the campus also graced the occasion. The event also marked Oxford College of Business (OCB) and Australian Institute of Business Administration (AIBA) 3 year partnership, where OCB together with AIBA has been awarding the MBA's in Sri Lanka since 2007.
Mr. Abraham officially announced that AIBA was listed in the International Association of Universities (IAU); the official document publishing the list of universities in the world and as a result that the AIBA MBA is now UGC approved in Sri Lanka. Professor Rod said: "The international recognition of the MBA programme has long made it the best MBA for Sri Lankan business professionals, giving Sri Lankans the opportunity to obtain a totally internal and fully accredited Australian MBA in 12 months, while working full-time which is of great value."
MP Thilanga Sumathipala also speaking at the event said that "interest in the MBAS are expected to increase as more and more business professionals seek to upgrade their skills and employability in a time of economic upturn in the country" and the AIBA MBA takes you there in no time.
Traditional MBA modules involve several individual subjects being offered generally over a 12 week period. For a busy executive, this makes learning susceptible to external factors such as unexpected work and personal issues that could occur during this time.
The 12 Month MBA is offered at one subject per month. This means that students need to focus on just one subject at a time, in addition to their usual personal and professional obligations. The fact that the examination is just a month away from the start of each subject has contributed to high completion rates, as the students are continuously motivated.
