The screenplay of Benette Ratnayake’s film ‘Ira Handa Yata’ (Under the Sun and Moon) together with some critical reviews of the film critics will be released at 3 on November 3 pm at Mahaweli Centre, Colombo 7.
Along with the book launch, a talk on the film which is now being screened on EAP circuit is to be held with the participation of scholars and writers including Prof. Carlo Fonseka, Dr. Tudor Weerasinghe, Edwin Ariyadasa, Somaweera Senanayake, Wijedasa Rajapakse, Parakrama Kodituwakku and Ajith Galappaththi.
Meanwhile, ‘Ira Handa yata’ has also been selected to represent Sri Lanka at the 41st International Film Festival of India which is to be held from November 20 to December 2.
Earlier the film won the best film award at the first edition of the Identitá Film Festival which was held in Parma and Barcelo, Italy and received ‘Honourable Mention’ at the Los Angeles International Film Festival and was also nominated for the Silver Screen award. It also represented at the 23rd Singapore International Film Festival. |
