Kadir case: Judge visits crime scene

High Court Judge Ms. Kumudini Wickremasinghe visited the scene of the assassination of former Foreign Minister Lakshman Kadirgamar at Bullers Lane, Colombo 7 on Wednesday. The tripod used to mount the weapon used in the assassination was taken to the house from where the gunman used the weapon.

Mr. Kadirgamar was assassinated on August 12, 2005. Three witnesses in the case, Major Niroshan Manatunga, Senior Superintendent of Police (SSP) Ajith Wickremasekara and Inspector Dimuthu Samaranayake of the STF were questioned by Deputy Solicitor General Kapila Waidyaratne with State Counsel Chanyl Kularatne and Priyanee Kalawansa about their observations at the scene of the crime.
The next hearings of the case have been scheduled for January 12 and 21, next year.
