Agile project management tools and techniques are currently gaining popularity rapidly in the Software development industry all over the world.
Due to the increasing complexity in projects and rapidly changing requirements, technology projects demand a very flexible project management techniques. Since gathering all the requirements at the beginning of a project is a difficult exercise, software development projects find it difficult to plan up front and predict the progress of the project in advance.
Because of this limitation most of the software development projects faced numerous problems from the beginning. In response to these limitations in conventional project management approaches, methodology called Agile project management was introduced around 2001.
Agility means" To quickly adjust and respond to changing business needs."* The flexible Agile approach consists of many quick iterative planning and development cycles, which permits Agilist to continuously review the evolving product and obtain feedback from users or stakeholders.
This facilitates the ability to tailor the product to the customer needs and to optimize the business value to the customer. In Agile project management method, work is prioritized in consultation with the customer, based on the value it delivers to the business. As project progresses, the team improves product and the working methods using the lessons learned during the iterations.
Agile project management is an ideal method for businesses which looks for continuous Innovation, rapid product adaptability, reduced time-to-market, adaptable people and processes, reliable results and empowered organizational cultures.
