Maliyadeva, Wesley, Trinity and St Peter's enter semis

Under 17 Cricket

The Under 17 Division One cricket tournament conducted by the Sri Lanka Schools Cricket Association and sponsored by Elephant House is nearing its end. The stage is now set for the two semi finals slotted to be played during the course of next week. The four teams to advance to the semi finals are Maliyadeva, Wesley, Trinity and St Peter's having overcome St Sebastian's, Royal, St Benedict's and Joseph Vaz Wennappuwa respectively in the quarter final encounters.

The first semi final down to be played is between Maliyadeva and Wesley on September 16 which will be followed by the encounter between last years champions St Peter's and runner up Trinity on September 19. The final is scheduled to be played on September 25.

Meanwhile St Peter's 'B' last years champion in the Division Two of the same age group qualified to the finals with a resounding 112 runs win over St Peter's Negombo in the first semi final. St Peter's will now meet the winner of the second semi final which will be between Taxila Central Horana and Anuradhapura Central due to be played on September 12. The final is scheduled to be played on September 23. All the matches in the both the divisions will be played at the CCC grounds.
