The Sabaragamuwa Rugby Football Union will host an invitational rugby tournament among schools in connection with its 17th anniversary which falls this month. The tournament will take place next Saturday (17) at the Kelani Valley ground in Talduwa, Avissawella. Two tournaments for the Under-12 and 14 age groups are set to take place in which teams from S. Thomas’ Mt. Lavinia, St. Anthony’s Katugastota, D.S. Senanayake, Science, Ananda, Kingswood, Hisham Abdeen Rugby Football Academy (HARFA), Petersons Rugby Academy, Zahira Mawanella, Buddhist School Talduwa, St. Mary’s Yatiyantota and Isipathana compete.
The trophies on offer have been named after former rugby greats Dedacus Almeida, Lionel Almeida, Gen. Denzil Kobbekaduwa and Quintin Israel. - NA |
