Tuart College is a government owned institution, located close to the vibrant heart of the modern city of Perth. As the capital city of the resource rich state of Western Australia, Perth is a rapidly developing commercial centre which services a booming mining economy.Despite current global financial issues, Western Australia continues to exhibit strong economic growth, which places it favourably to service international students from South Asia. Great opportunities exist for students to obtain part-time work and more importantly, the chance to gain work experience in their chosen fields, whilst completing their undergraduate courses.
The programmes offered by Tuart College provide students with a range of pathways to university entrance. If students require an upgrade to their academic or English language skills after the completion of their "O" levels, they can enrol in a Bridging programme. Suitably qualified students who have completed their "O" levels can gain direct entry to one of our university preparation, Year 12 courses.
Our most popular Year 12 courseis the Western Australian Universities' Preparatory Programme (WAUPP). The course was designed for international students by the four public universities in Perth.
Its wide acceptance is based upon the integration of international students with local students in academic subjects, along with the study of a compulsory English programme which includes a component on Australian culture. A great advantage of the WAUPP is that upon its successful completion, students are provided with a guaranteed place in one of the Western Australian public universities. The programme is recognised by the Group of Eight universities, Australia wide.
A number of our past WAUPP graduates have also gained access to universities in the United Kingdom, the USA, Germany, Canada, Singapore and Hong Kong.
International students also have the option to study the Western Australian Certificate of Education (WACE). As this programme has been designed for local Australian students, international students find this course very challenging. It is often suited to students who wish to study a humanities based programme, or one which includes a foreign language due to the greater number of subjects available.
Regardless of the programme they complete, students of Tuart College can feel safe with the security and quality that comes with being enrolled in a government institution with 25 years of experience in providing opportunities for international students.
