Sri Lankan Quantity Surveying Company makes its presence felt at Infra Oman 2011

MUSCAT: Milcris Private Limited (Oman), a leading Sri Lankan registered Chartered Quantity Surveying company, participated at the Infra Oman 2011 exhibition, held at the Oman International Exhibition Centre from 20th to 22nd September. This three-day exhibition, held in co-operation with Ministry of Transport and Communications and the Oman Society of Contractors showcased engineering, architectural and consultancy services, construction supplies, building and heavy equipment necessary for the successful implementation of infrastructure projects. More than 100 local and international exhibitors from countries such as Austria, Kingdom of Bahrain, China, Egypt, France, Germany, Iran, Ireland, Italy, South Korea, Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, Morocco, Qatar, Spain, Turkey, USA, UK and UAE participated in the exhibition. The Milcris stall at the venue attracted a lot of footfalls on the first day of the exhibition.

H.E. Asoka Girihagama, Sri Lanka's Ambassador to the Sultanate visited the Milcris stall with the Chief Guest, H.E. Dr. Rasheed bin Al Safi Al Huraibi, Chairman of the Tender Board of Oman and his delegation. The Ambassador said "we are proud to see a Sri Lankan Company successfully operating in the international market and I hope that other Sri Lankan Companies too will be encouraged to courageously take on international competition and show the world the abilities and potential of the Sri Lankans"

Speaking about participating in the high profile expo, CEO of Milcris, Millan De Silva said: "We are delighted to be participating in Infra Oman 2011. The exhibition provides an excellent opportunity for participants to access the industry's leading stakeholders."

"The exhibition is an important opportunity for the construction industry as it features clients, decision makers and top officials of companies involved in Oman's vibrant building and construction industry under one roof," he added.

The Guest of Honour was H.E. Dr. Ahmed bin Mohammed bin Salim Al Futaisi, Minister Transport & Communications. Milcris has been successfully operating for the last five years in the Sultanate by consistently providing high standards of services for key projects including the development of the landmark Muscat and Salalah International airports. The company addresses important issues relating to contract and cost management and the increasing need for value that customers face against today's rapidly transforming construction industry.

In addition to cost consultancy and quantity surveying, Milcris offers a wide range of services such as Project Management Consultancy, preparation of project feasibility reports, project development appraisals, risk assessments tender management, and Contract Administration and provides employment in Oman to over 85 European and Asian personnel of which over 60 are Sri Lankan professionally and technically qualified Quantity Surveyors and engineering staff.
