Singer adds Huawei smart phones

Chinese mobile phone manufactuer Huawei recently appointed retail store chain Singer Sri Lanka as the exclusive distributor for its brand locally. As a first step in its partnership with Huawei, Singer has already made available to the domestc market seven Huawei products, including the high-end Honor, the 7" Media Pad, three models of its Ascend smart phone product range and two lower cost, basic mobile phones.

According to singersl.com, the Honor retails at Rs. 48,999 (4"), the Media Pad is Rs. 63,999, the three models of the Ascend range are Rs. 16,999 (2.8"), Rs. 21,999 (3.5") and Rs. 36,999 (4"), and the basic mobile phones are available at Rs. 3,599 (1.8") and Rs. 7,999 (2.4"). Additionally, the Honor, Media Pad and Ascend product ranges are all Android Operating System based, with the Honor and Media Pad using Android 4.0 (Ice Cream Sandwich) and the Ascend utilising Android 2.3 (Gingerbread). All phones/tablet PCs come standard with cameras, etc. while the higher end Ascend, Media Pad and Honor offer touchscreens, etc.

Additionally, Singer also announced that TV and film star Saranga Disasekara was its new Brand Ambassador for its Huawei range. (JH)
