The Central Bank has solicited the support of all Sri Lankans living in overseas and foreign philanthropists by donating dollars to minimise sufferings of the people countrywide due to dwindling foreign reserves.
Issuing a message pleading for much needed foreign exchange, the Central Bank assured the donors that these cash donations will be strictly used for the importation of essential commodities such as medicinal drugs, fuel, and food items.
