The Colombo share market ended the holiday shortened week on Thursday on a positive note with local investors topping the turnover charts, analysts said. Friday is a Poya holiday for the market. Institutional and high net worth activity was seen on John Keells Holdings, Dialog Axiata, Commercial Bank and Lanka Orix Finance. Mixed interest was seen in Ceylon Cold Stores. Whereas retailers traded on John Keells Warrants 22. The all share price index gained 0.25 per cent to close at 7,332.05 (+0.25%), the S&P SL20 gained 0.07 per cent to close at 4,107.07. Year to date All Share Index Performance accounted to -0.2 per cent while Blue Chip Index also projected a decline of -0.1per cent since this year’s beginning. Shares of 232 companies were traded today. Of these, 98 companies declined while 71 closed higher.Banking, Finance and Insurance Sector managed to record the highest turnover at Rs. 682.1 million for the day, followed by the Diversified Holdings Sector and the Telecommunications Sector, with daily turnovers of Rs. 483.8 million and Rs. 201.4 million respectively.
