‘Writing Creatively’-a workshop for 10-14 year old conducted by Neluka Silva is designed to help children think about creating and constructing stories and essays. The three sessions will involve individual and group work and fun activities which tap into the imagination. The activities also focus on structuring and producing outlines of stories and essays. Day 1 is Beginning a story and developing a plot, Day 2 will look at the process of Creating Characters and setting and Day 3 will focus on Ending stories/essays in an interesting way. The workshop will be on September 2, 3 and 4 from 3.30-5.30 p.m., at Kithu Sevana, Bauddhaloka Mawatha, Colombo 7. Author of short stories and a novel, The Iron Fence, Neluka has conducted several creative writing workshops at Milk and for the Galle Literary Festival children’s programme.
