Samagi Jana Balawegaya (SJB) parliamentarian for the Kurunegala District Ashok Abeysinghe has been summoned before the Criminal Investigations Department (CID) today over remarks he made on Easter Sunday attacks, police spokesman DIG Ajith Rohana said.
According to DIG Ajith Rojhana, Mr Abeysinghe was instructed by CID to appear yesterday but he failed to do so.
Addressing in a meeting MP Abeysinghe claimed that it was President Gotabaya Rajapaksa and former Minister Basil Rajapaksa who orchestarted the attacks with the financial support given by Avant Garde chairman Nissanka Senadhipathi. Mr Senadhipathi lodged a complaint with the CID over the claims.
