The Department of Examinations warns that stern action will be taken against any GCE Ordinary Level candidates who cause disturbances within the premises of examination centres, obstruct other candidates or cause harm to public property after the conclusion of the examination on March 10 (Wednesday).
Issuing a media release, Commissioner General of Examinations Sanath Pujitha requests candidates to disperse peacefully after the examination concludes on March 10.
If any candidates are found engaged in the offences mentioned above, stern action will be taken against them under the Public Examinations Act No.25 of 1968. Accordingly, those found guilty of such offences could have their exam results annulled, he further warned.
All OICs of police stations islandwide have been informed of the matter and mobile police patrols will be in operation around examinations centres, the release said.
