Former MP J Sri Ranga, arrested over a vehicle accident was remanded till March 20 after he was produced before the Mount Lavinia Acting Magistrate today, police said.
He was arrested while receiving treatment at the Kalubowila hospital.
A police sergeant was killed in the accident after being hit by the vehicle driven by Mr Ranga in 2011, in Chettikulam, Vavuniya, but he had switched the driver soon after.
The Vavuniya High Court judge had ordered to arrest the Former MP regarding the death of a police sergeant killed in an accident near the Chettikulam hospital in Vavuniya on 30 July 2011.
