The Defence Ministry has refuted reports that President Anura Kumara Dissanayake used a helicopter to travel to Jaffna last week for a series of events in the north.
The Defence Ministry said the Sri Lanka Air Force has confirmed that a helicopter had not been used for the visit. The Ministry said he had travelled in his official vehicle.
The Ministry was referring to social media reports that three helicopters were used for the visit.
