Sri Lanka’s budget presentation this afternoon (Thursday) will take just 90 minutes and seen as the shortest presentation in local budget history.
The budget speech by Finance Minister Mangala Samaraweera, his maiden one, will begin at 3 pm and end at 4.30 pm. The minister confirmed to reporters recently that this would be the shortest budget in history, a claim which is yet to be independently verified. This is the 72nd budget presentation by the Government of Sri Lanka.
