A ceremony to mark the 150th Birth Anniversary of Mahatma Gandhi was held at the Presidential Secretariat today (Oct 1).
President Maithripala Sirisena and Indian High Commissioner Taranjit Singh Sandhu offered floral tributes to a portrait of Mahatma Gandhi.
"Gandhi had a deep connection with Sri Lanka which is highlighted by his extensive travels all over the Island in 1927," the Indian High Commission said in a statement.
