The public can file complaints at the Criminal Investigations Department (CID) on surgeries performed by Kurunegala Teaching Hospital doctor Z S Mohamed Safi, police said.
Dr. Safi was arrested last week over allgedly acquiring assets in a suspicious manner. He is now being questioned under CID custody, Police Spokesman Ruwan Gunasekara said yesterday (May 26)
Meanwhile, the suspect has also been accused of making women sterile during cesarian surgeries to prevent them from conceiving further.
Certain mothers who had undergone cesarian surgeries performed by Dr. Safi have called the Kurunegala hospital and sought for a date to carry out a test to determine whether they have been made sterile or not.
