A travel ban has been imposed on three individuals including Pivithuru Hela Urumaya (PHU) Deputy Leader Madhumadhava Aravinda who has been accused of involvement in the recent Minuwangoda riots.
The Minuwangoda Magistrate's Court today (May 27) instructed the Controller General (Acting) of the Immigration and Emigration Department to impound the passports of the suspects.
K.P Athula Dayaratne and K. Nuwan Upendra have been identified as the other suspects in the case.
Court also heard the details of 15 other individuals who were involved in the riots. The suspects had been identified by a special police team using the assistance of intelligence, informants, and CCTV footage, court was informed today.
A total of 17 suspects have been remanded over the rioting incidents so far.
