President Maithripala Sirisena has issued a gazette notification extending the state of emergency in the country by another month.
According to the gazette, the extension was done in the best interest of public security in order to preserve public order in the country.
Emergency Regulations were imposed on April 22 in the aftermath of the Easter Sunday attacks which shook the country on April 21.
