Main suspect in Karandeniya PS Deputy Chairman's killing arrested

The main suspect in the assassination of the Deputy Chairman of the Karandeniya Pradeshiya Sabha, Donald Sampath, has been arrested. 

The arrested suspect is reported to be a close associate of an underworld leader known as 'Kosgoda Sujee.'

Mr Sampath was shot dead while traveling in a double cab at Korakena in Uragasmanhandiya last Friday (6) by two gunmen who arrived on a motorbike. 

Police had earlier arrested one of the two men who allegedly took part in the shooting. He was identified as a 22-year-old area resident.
