The Marawila Magistrates Court today (May 29) granted bail to 31 suspects who involved in the recent unrest in the Koswatte area.
While ordering that the suspects be released on surtey bails of Rs 50,000 each, Marawila Magistrate Sirimevan Mahendraraj adjourned court sittings until August 28.
The suspects were apprehended over their alleged involvement in the recent riots which had taken place while police curfew was in effect across the country.
One person was killed while another was injured in the rioting that had apparently taken place as a reprisal to the Easter Sunday bombings last month.
According to the Police, certain school students had also been involved in committing acts of violence.
