The Ceylon Electricity Board ( CEB)has estimated their damage due to recent floods and landslides as to be over Rs 300 million, Minister Minister Power and Renewable energy Ranjith Siyambalapitiya said
“ Some areas were underwater and electricity had to be cut off due to safety measures but other areas which experienced landslides and the power plant at Kukuleganga were damaged” he said.
He said Ratnapura, Matara, Galle and Kalutara districts were affected. Mr Siyambalapitiya said that even during the adverse weather they were able to provide power within few days of therefore the CEB employees have to be credited and thanked.
