Police have commenced investigations into the death of a man who was hospitalised after being discovered with cut wounds in Thiniyawala yesterday (Apr 02).
The victim was found along Hallindola road in the vicinity of the Ilukkatiya between 1:15 and 1:55 pm and had died while receiving treatment at the Meegahathenna hospital.
Preliminary investigations have revealed that the victim was attacked while he was travelling in his three-wheeler to supply some goods to his shop.
A sum of Rs 30,000 had also been stolen from the victim, police said. The deceased has been identified as K. Lalinda, 55, a resident of Pelawatta.
